Hedwig worked her narrow sampler, 92 cm long and 38.5 cm wide, on coarse fabric in two colours. It probably comes from Austria and is in private hands today.
Many samplers from the first quarter of the 20th century contain witty sayings. Kitchen textiles with sayings have been worked until 1930, those sayings are called "kitchen poetry” today.
