Bravo, Ramoncita! You have "captured" so many motifs, borders, tendrils, cartouches and beautiful animal motifs with your red silk thread. Unique!
After the first alphabets in fine cross stitches, you also practiced the double running stitch.
You probably got a large piece of fine cotton fabric in 1861 and started stitching in the upper left corner. You lined and rimmed it, then your task was: alphabets in rows. In order to stay straight along a thread, you have visibly “connected” the letters.
The bottom area is decorated with numerous cartouches and dogs, worked over two threads in fine cross stitches. But the large central area was still so empty. Now you just wanted to finish and have become bigger with your stitches - over three and even four threads.
You arranged everything very harmoniously on the cotton ground. A feast for the eyes!
